Semiconductor and Communications Industry Veteran Moves Ahead at Prominent
Silicon Valley Venture Capital Firm
MENLO PARK, Calif., July 19 // -- Foundation Capital, a
venture capital firm committed to early stage company building, today
announced that Rich Redelfs has been promoted to general partner. Redelfs

Communications (Nasdaq: ATHR), a company he led from a small startup to the
leading provider of Wi-Fi wireless semiconductors.
"At Foundation Capital, our focus on backing the best entrepreneurs has
created opportunities to work with top-notch companies like Atheros,
Netflix and Peribit," said Bill Elmore, general partner, Foundation
Capital. "Over the last three years weve benefited greatly from Richs
extensive experience at Atheros and 3Com, and as he moves to general

legacy. Richs experience with building Atheros from the ground up, coupled
with his broader networking, healthcare and cleantech interests will help
move our firm even further into extremely promising areas of investment."
Prior to his work with Atheros, Redelfs was vice president and general
manager of 3Coms Wireless and Home Connectivity Division, where he was a
recognized pioneer in home networking. He spent ten years at 3Com in

president of marketing and later acting general manager for the Mobile
Communications Division, which he helped grow from $35-million to over
$700-million in revenue. Prior to 3Com, Redelfs was chief operating officer
of Polygon, a communications software start-up.
"Since joining Foundation Capital, I have been part of a team of former
entrepreneurs with deep operations experience who share an affinity for
helping others build successful companies," commented Redelfs. "As a
general partner, I look forward to leveraging my industry experience and
network to uncover and support the most promising new companies in the
marketplace."

Microsystems, Prematics and Azimuth Systems. Dust Networks is a leader in
wireless sensor networking for industrial and building efficiency; Mobius
