Companys CEO to Present at Cleantech Venture Forum on Sept 21
DAVIS, Calif., Sept 20 // -- Marrone Organic Innovations,
Inc. (MOI) is pleased to announce that it has raised $550,000, exceeding
its target of $500,000 in seed financing. The company is on a fast-track
start up timeline, having incorporated June 29 and completed its seed
financing round by the end of August.
"Our goal was to get an initial $500,000 in the door quickly to bring
in some in-licensed products and set up our in-house discovery while we
initiated the search for $2-3 million of Series A," said Pam Marrone, CEO
and Founder. "We are pleased that it proceeded as planned."
"We have found that our focus on a big unmet need -- weed control for
organic farming and a strong product pipeline, coupled with the leadership
of an experienced entrepreneur and team, has resonated with investors,"
said Julie Morris, VP of Finance and Operations.
On Thursday September 21, 2006, MOI CEO Marrone will present at the
premier investor conference with a cleantech focus, sponsored by the
Cleantech Venture Network(R) LLC [http://cleantech.com]. Seventeen
companies were competitively selected to present their companies to
investors at the investor forum in New York City.
