JACKSONVILLE, Fla., Sept. 12 // -- In remarks presented today
during Blue Cross and Blue Shield of Floridas (BCBSF) annual
policyholders meeting, Chris Doerr, Executive Vice President, Chief
Administrative Officer and Chief Financial Officer, reported that 2005
marked the companys seventeenth consecutive year of positive performance.

Doerr said the company increased enrollment in its Health Business by
110,000 new members, posted positive financial gains and enhanced
policyholders equity. He attributed the positive performance to BCBSFs
innovative products and services, superior customer service, and broad
satisfaction among the companys customers, physicians and providers,
distribution channels and other key partners.
"In todays turbulent health care environment, we seek ways to meet the
ever-changing needs of our customers, and to find creative solutions to the
challenges of the marketplace," said Doerr. "Our mission to play a unique
role in advancing the health and well-being of Floridians is paramount."
In other business conducted at the meeting related to the BCBSF Board
of Directors, Robert M. Beall, II, was re-elected to a three-year term,
Henry H. Beckwith was re-elected to a one-year term, and Leerie T. Jenkins,
Jr. and John B. Ramil were elected to two-year terms.
