NEW YORK, Aug. 8 // -- Duff & Phelps, a leading provider of
independent financial advisory services, today announced that Dwight Grant
has joined the firm as Managing Director in the Financial Engineering
practice. Dr. Grant will be working out of the firms San Francisco office.
Prior to joining Duff & Phelps, Dr. Grant served as a professor in
finance and economics for more than 30 years at a number of distinguished
universities and graduate schools, in addition to providing consulting,
contract research and expert witness services to a wide range of government
and corporate clients.
Most recently, Dr. Grant was a professor of global finance at
Thunderbird, the Garvin School of International Management, where he taught
courses in corporate financial management, financial engineering and global
portfolio management. He also served as a visiting professor at Fundacao
Armando Alvares Penteado in Sao Paulo, Brazil. His recent research has
included complex option pricing, no-arbitrage interest rate modeling, risk
management, accounting for derivatives and FAS 133 compliance, and
international investment and currency risk management. In addition, Dr.
Grant has assisted firms in structuring hedges and in qualifying for and
implementing hedge accounting, and has provided expert third party
valuations for complex derivatives.
Dr. Grant holds a Ph.D. in finance from the University of Pennsylvania
and an M.B.A. in finance from the Wharton School of the University of
Pennsylvania. He has been published numerous times and is an ad hoc
reviewer for an array of scholarly journals and trade publications.
