WICHITA, Kan., March 24 // -- Related Management Company, L.P.,
on behalf of the Condominium Board of Time Warner Center, has awarded Balco
Inc. the contract to bring the Time Warner Center into compliance with NYC
Local Law 26 utilizing glowZONE(TM)/ecoglo and Balco IllumiTread(TM) products.
Jim Armour, President and CEO of Balco, Inc., stated, "We are pleased to
have been selected by the Condominium Board of the Time Warner Center to
provide the best system available. This system will insure continuous
compliance with NYC Local Law 26 for many years to come. We know from our 37
years of experience that our IllumiTread(TM) stair nosing will most likely be
in place for the life of this building. glowZONE(TM)/ecoglo and ourselves have
worked diligently to design and develop a life safety system that all Time
Warner Center residents can rely on to provide a durable and safe egress
pathway to guide them to safety in times of emergency."
The durable design of the system is based on a process that heat-fuses the
photoluminescent pigment to an aluminum substrate. And, the five-year warranty
on the material and installation reduces, if not eliminates, any cost
exposures for this period. The Balco/glowZONE(TM) warranty states that the
product will be in place for five years.
