HARRISBURG, Pa., Aug. 14 // -- The U.S. Small Business
Administration (SBA) is reminding renters, homeowners and businesses that
they have until September 5, 2006 to file physical disaster loan
applications for damages from the severe storms, flooding and mudslides
that occurred June 23 through July 10, 2006. SBA staff is available at ten
Centers to assist applicants.
The SBA presence at these Centers demonstrates the agencys commitment
to ensure that every qualified individual and business receives the help
they need to recover from this disaster. "Assisting individuals to recover
from a disaster is our primary mission. Therefore, we are encouraging those
affected by this disaster to visit the centers and to obtain individual
assistance with their applications from our representatives," said Frank
Skaggs, Director of SBA Field Operations Center East.
The Centers are open until further notice in the following locations:

SBA urges anyone that has not registered for assistance to call FEMA at
1-800-621-FEMA (3362), regardless of the status of any insurance claim.
FEMA will refer you to the agency(s) best able to meet your
disaster-related needs.
Anyone with questions concerning SBA Disaster Loan applications can
call the SBA Disaster Customer Service Center at 1-800-659-2955
(1-800-877-8339 for the hearing-impaired), Monday through Saturday from 8
a.m. until 9 p.m. EDT. Applications may be obtained, completed and returned
to any Disaster Loan Assistance Center or mailed to: U.S. Small Business
Administration, Processing and Disbursement Center, 14925 Kingsport Road,
Fort Worth, Texas 76155. Business loan applications can also be downloaded
from the SBA Web site at http://www.sba.gov/disaster.
The deadline for physical damage applications is September 5, 2006; the
deadline for economic injury applications is April 4, 2007.
