CHEVY CHASE, Md., Sept. 30 // -- Its time to rev up those
engines and polish your chrome! Bikes for Tykes is taking Washington by
storm on Saturday, Sept. 30, 11:30 a.m. - 4:00 p.m., at GEICOs Chevy Chase
headquarters, 5260 Western Ave.
GEICO Motorcycle, along with PNC Bank and PricewaterhouseCoopers, will
host a motorcycle rally and family fun day to benefit two local childrens
charities, Childrens Hospital and NIH Childrens Charities in the
Washington area.
This day-long festival will feature area motorcycle aficionados as well
as top-of-the-line motorcycles and accessories from the best known
motorcycle makers. Bikes for Tykes is free and open to the public.
In addition, families are invited to enjoy rides, food concessions and
live music provided by The Marsh Brothers, Jah Works, and Todays Cavemen.
Proceeds from Saturdays rally will benefit the Bikes for Tykes
charities, Childrens Hospital and NIH Childrens Charities and Childrens
Hospital of the Kings Daughters (CHKD). A similar Bikes for Tykes rally
and family fun day will take place on Oct. 7 in Virginia Beach to solely
benefit CHKD.
This year, GEICO raised a total of $101,000 for Childrens Hospital
through associate fundraising and the GEICO Philanthropic Foundations
donations.
